A personal background of me and who I am



Background

Hi, my name is Nathan Burgess, or just Nate for short. I am twenty two years old and majoring in restaurant management. I love to cook, and I have to credit that to my mom. She taught me many recipies when I was young, and constantly promoted my passion for food and cooking. 

Industry Experience

 As mentioned, I have worked in the restaurant industry over the past six years. I started as a host and busboy, but eventually moved to the back of house as a dishwasher. I loved being in back of house more, so I slowly progressed my way up the ranks as a prep cook, fish monger, line cook, and eventually Jr. Sous Chef. I have also trained as a bar back, and want to continue learning how to bar tend.

Career Goals

My goals are to become a professional chef and travel the world. I eventually wnat to open my own restuarant in India when I have the finances and experience to run a restaurant. I do not really have more details beyond that, and I am sure some goals will change over the years. 

Hobbies

I'm honestly a pretty simple person in my free time. I really enjoy cooking and snowboarding. I just enjoy the overall process of cooking and creating unique and interesting flavors. I also love the weather and snow this time of year. I started snowboarding in 2018 and have come to really enjoy it over the years. I also enjoy skating when there isn't any snow left.
